The Integrated Cognitive Neuroscience, Informatics, and Computation (ICONIC) Grid provides a high performance computing infrastructure to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of brain-related conditions. The Neuroinformatics center received a one-million dollar grant from the National Science Foundation in 2003 to build the ICONIC grid and pursue research related to it's usage.
Grid computing provides powerful, remote computing resources as an extension to a user's local computing environment. Researchers at the Neuroinformatics Center are currently developing their first generation of grid-enabled products. See the GEMINI page for more details.
